Paulina Colombo

My name is Paulina Colombo and I am originally from Lawrence, Kansas, but moved to Tucson in 2015 to attend the University of Arizona. My main deciding factor for choosing the University of Arizona was my interest in Public Health. However, besides my educational reasons, I chose this University because of its location -I love Tucson, hiking and being outdoors. I am now a second semester senior completing my undergraduate degree in Public Health from the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College. I hope to continue on at the University of Arizona to obtain a master’s degree in Epidemiology.

Completing my Honors Thesis with Dr. O’Rourke and the Hopi Environmental Health Project Team has been an incredible experience. I have learned so much about research, data analysis, and also have had the opportunity to present my analyzed data to a group of Hopi community partners. The work I have done with this project has sparked a newfound interest in the field of research that I hope to pursue further with a specific focus on epidemiological research.
