Jonathan Blohm

My name is Jonathan Blohm and I am a graduate student pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental Health Science from the University of Arizona. I am from Tucson, Arizona and completed my bachelor’s in Physiology from the University of Arizona in May 2018. Since May of 2017, I have worked on the Hopi Environmental Health Project (HEHP) as first an undergraduate researcher in the Environmental Health Science – Transformative Research Undergraduate Experience (EHS-TRUE). My research interests reside with identifying arsenic contamination in the drinking water of the Hopi Tribe and conducting cancer risk assessments associated with dietary consumption. Working on HEHP has greatly impacted my understanding of eliminating health disparities in rural, underserved tribal communities here in my native state of Arizona. My professional goals are to become a physician and I aspire to further the research in understanding how environmental exposures impact later chronic diseases in underserved communities.
