Adam Carl

My name is Adam Carl and I am from Flagstaff, Arizona. I am pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences with a Physiology major at the University of Arizona. I am currently a sophomore with a junior class standing and I will be the first in my family to graduate with a four-year degree. I wanted to attend the University of Arizona because it is the only university that offers an undergraduate degree program through their college of medicine. Upon completion of my undergraduate degree, I will be pursuing a Masters of Science in Environmental Health Sciences here at the University of Arizona. I plan on applying to medical school after completing the masters program. Working on the Hopi Environmental Health Project has made an impact on me in many ways from influencing my career path to giving me the opportunity of giving back to my community. I was able to live with my grandmother on the Hopi Reservation for two months and return individual participant results while collecting environmental samples. Connecting with members of the community has shown me that I have a lot of support and through that I was able to find a passion for environmental health.
